Léo Sergipano

Léo Sergipano was born in Aracaju, Sergipe in 1983. He came up in modest circumstances, and his early years weren't easy. The music he makes now draws from traditional Brazilian rhythms like forró and sertanejo, but he gives them a modern, pop-inflected feel.

His breakthrough came in 2012 with 'Joga na Minha Cara,' a song that became a massive hit in Brazil. The track's suggestive content drew some criticism, but its catchy beat and direct lyrics connected with listeners. It topped the charts and made him a household name.

He's released several albums since then, including 'Meu Lugar' in 2015, 'Onze:11' in 2018, and 'Pra Ser Feliz' in 2021. Other songs like 'Piseiro da Inveja' and 'Super-Heroína' have also found an audience. He's worked with artists like Ivete Sangalo and Wesley Safadão, and he leads a band that plays on his recordings.
