Leonard Torres grew up in Cali, Colombia, in a household where salsa and bolero were part of the air. He started playing music early, influenced by artists like Rubén Blades and Héctor Lavoe. In the early 2000s, he met Julián Collazos and Mauricio Ospina, and they formed the group Centro together.
Centro's first album came out in 2005, named after the band. The title track 'Centro' mixed salsa, pop, and Colombian rhythms, and it got them some attention. They put out more records after that, including 'Centro II' in 2008 and 'Centro III' in 2013. Torres also has a solo song called 'Vou Voar'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
