Leonardo Mattos is a Brazilian singer-songwriter from Rio de Janeiro. His debut single 'Vem Menina' came out in 2016 and found an audience with its mix of samba and bossa nova influences.
That song caught the attention of producer Dudu Borges, who worked with Mattos on his follow-up album 'Só Pra Você.' The record built on the momentum of the single, though it also brought some unwanted attention when 'Vem Menina' faced plagiarism accusations in 2018. Those claims were eventually dismissed.
Mattos kept writing and performing after that, staying grounded in the sounds he grew up with around Rio.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
