Leonardo Teixeira started as a street performer in São Paulo before releasing his debut single 'Ainda Tenho Esperança' in 2016. His early work came from that background, with songs like 'Contrastes da Vida' and 'Me Chama de Louco' following in a similar vein of straightforward Brazilian pop.
His first album 'Sonhos e Realidades' came out in 2018, and he's put out a few more since then including 'Não Desista' and 'Um Novo Amanhã'. The songs tend to deal with everyday themes - love, disappointment, keeping going - without much pretense.
He's worked with other Brazilian artists like DJ Malboro and Kevinho along the way, and performs with a regular band. The music stays in that accessible pop territory, the kind that plays well on radio and at shows without trying to reinvent anything.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
