Leonel Ferreira and Valdecir da Silva Araújo, who performs as Violão, started playing together in Belo Horizonte in the early 2000s. They worked as a duo, with Ferreira on vocals and guitar and Araújo on vocals and the viola caipira, a twelve-string Brazilian guitar.
Their first album came out in 2005, and the song 'Faria Tudo Pra Te Ter de Volta' became a hit in Brazil. They followed it with several more albums over the next few years, including 'Só Por Amor' in 2006 and 'Românticos' in 2007. Other songs like 'Se Eu Fosse Um Passarinho' and 'A Natureza' also became popular with their audience.
In 2010, they were involved in a legal dispute over the rights to 'Faria Tudo Pra Te Ter de Volta.' The matter was settled, but it was a notable part of their story at the time.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
