Leonel García first became known as one half of the Mexican pop duo Sin Bandera, which he formed with Noel Schajris in the late 1990s. The pair released several albums together before going their separate ways in 2007.
After the duo split, García began working on his own material. His solo debut came out in 2008, but it was a decade later that he found a new level of recognition with the single 'Te Doy La Vida.' That track, along with others like 'Para Empezar' and 'Confieso,' which features Natalia Lafourcade, helped define his post-Sin Bandera sound.
He's kept writing and recording since then, maintaining a presence in Latin pop without trying to recreate the exact dynamic of his earlier work with Schajris.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
