Leoni Muniz was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1954. He formed his eponymous band in the late 1970s, and their debut album came out in 1979. The group worked with a mix of pop, rock, and Brazilian styles.
His second album, released in 1983, was titled after the song "Não Quero Mais Me Iludir." That track became a hit ballad about unrequited love. Other songs from around that time include "O Rei Vem" and "Para o Encontrar."
In the early 1990s, Muniz faced a legal dispute with his record label that slowed his output. He was also known for being outspoken about politics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
