Leonilo Jaimes is a vocalist and composer from San Juan Evangelista, Veracruz, Mexico. He grew up hearing traditional Mexican serenades, which shaped his approach to melody and storytelling.
His debut album 'Pensando en Ti' came out in 1998, with the title track becoming his most recognized song. He followed it with albums like 'Lazos de Amor' in 2000 and 'Alma Ranchera' in 2002, working with a band called Los Gavilanes.
Some of his lyrics addressed social issues like poverty, which drew both support and criticism. He kept writing in that vein regardless. Another well-known song of his is 'Querido San Valentin'.
