Leopardo No Viaja

Leopardo No Viaja formed in Barcelona in 1978. Their name translates to "Leopard Doesn't Travel," which gives a sense of their attitude. They were part of the Spanish punk scene that emerged after Franco's death, playing in underground venues when mainstream outlets weren't interested.

Their song "El Butanero" became their most recognizable track. It's about a butane gas delivery man who falls for a blind woman, which was enough to get attention in conservative circles at the time. The band's lyrics often dealt with subjects that made authorities uncomfortable.

They faced censorship and had concerts disrupted. This opposition from official channels seemed to reinforce their position as an underground voice during Spain's transition period.
