Les Valentins formed in Paris in 2003 as a trio with Jean-Baptiste Doré on vocals, Olivier Lemoine on multiple instruments, and Marc-Antoine Ernotte on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2007, followed by "À La Recherche de Sainte Luce" in 2010. The song "À La Sainte Luce" from that second album became their most recognizable track.
Their music drew some criticism for being overly sentimental, and they faced scrutiny after appearing on a television show that had been criticized for homophobic content. They released several more albums including "La Vie En Rose" in 2013 and "Le Chant des Sirènes" in 2016.
