Lesley Duncan

Lesley Duncan was born in Glasgow in 1943. She started writing songs as a teenager and eventually connected with producer John Franz, who signed her to Fontana Records. Her debut album 'Sing Children Sing' came out in the mid-1960s and included 'Love Song,' which became a UK chart hit in 1966.

Her music had a straightforward folk quality, with songs like 'I Can See Where I'm Going' and 'Another Light Goes Out' showing her knack for clear, melodic writing. She kept recording through the late 1960s and into the 1970s, putting out albums that stayed close to her acoustic roots without chasing trends.

Duncan's career had its complications, including a 1967 cannabis possession arrest that drew attention. Her catalog includes songs like 'A Road To Nowhere' that reflect her steady, unadorned approach to songwriting.
