Archive material and source history
Levy formed in 2005 with Marcelo Jeneci on vocals and guitar, Celso Sim on bass, André Mehmari on drums, and Bruno Medina on keyboards. Their first album, 'Fluke,' came out in 2009 and mixed samba and bossa nova with some electronic touches. Later, Sim and Mehmari left, and Guilherme Lírio and Gabriel Almeida joined on bass and drums.
They're probably best known for 'Quiança,' which got some attention in 2016 over plagiarism claims that were eventually dropped. Other songs like 'Aguento' and 'Caderno M' show their feel for Brazilian rhythms and straightforward lyrics about everyday things. They put out albums every few years, including 'Baque Open' in 2011, 'Deserto Particular' in 2015, and 'O Futuro Não Demora' in 2018.
