Lew Maggie formed in São Paulo in 2015 with Guilherme Eiras on vocals, Gabriel Thomaz on guitar, Felipe Fadini on bass, and Cauê Nardi on drums. Their sound pulls from Brazilian rhythms, funk, and soul.
In 2017, they released "Olho Puxado," which became their most recognizable track. The song's celebration of diversity drew both attention and some criticism about cultural appropriation, which the band addressed.
They followed with two studio albums, "Plural" in 2018 and "Sim" in 2021. Along the way, they worked with artists like Manu Gavassi, MC Carol, and SILVA.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
