Liaison formed in the late 1980s around vocalist Grant Nicholas. Their debut album came out in 1990, and they built a sound that drew from soul, gospel, and blues. The song 'Go And Sin No More' became their most recognized track, a ballad that dealt with themes of forgiveness and spiritual questioning.
That song's success brought the band wider attention, but also some criticism. Nicholas's lyrics and stage presence were seen as provocative by some listeners. The group released several more albums, including 'In the Light' and 'Rising to the Challenge,' but never quite matched that earlier commercial peak. Liaison disbanded in 2003.
