Liam Clancy was born in 1935 in Carrick-on-Suir, Ireland. In 1956, he formed the Clancy Brothers with his siblings Tom and Bobby and their cousin Brian. The group toured the United States and released albums like 'The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem' in 1961 and 'In Person at Carnegie Hall' in 1963.
Later, Clancy worked on his own material. His song 'The Dutchman' became particularly well-known among his solo recordings.
