Ligre Souza formed in 2013 around brothers Davi Souza on vocals and guitar and Rafael Souza on drums. They came from Passos, Minas Gerais, and started playing local bars and festivals. Their debut album came out in 2016, followed by 'Arvoredo' in 2018 and 'Paraíso' in 2021.
Their song 'Dom de Ser Feliz' became a national hit in Brazil. The band's sound mixes psychedelic rock with folk, and later records brought in samba and electronic touches. They work as a collective with bassist Pedro Lima and guitarist Renan Souza, writing through improvisation.
