I feel the sun beating down on me

I hear the wind blowing up through the trees

I see the birds flying all so free

And how I'm wishing that's how is could be

I see the pain in all of their eyes

They gain their strength from deep inside

I hear them whisper with regret

I often wonder how could we forget

I read the papers and I watch the news

They tell the story as they choose

The road of life is not always that clear

It's hard to believe all that we hear go 2 3 4

I see the cars passing me by

I watch the smoke blowing into the sky

I hear the children's rhythm in their feet

They walk and talk to a different beat

I watch my life passing me by

I wish I could be that bird in the sky
