Lilitu

Lilitu formed in Prague in 2006, with Kateřina Korandová on vocals, Tomáš Vartecký on guitar, Ivan Král on bass, and Jan Martínek on drums. Their name comes from a Babylonian demoness, which fits the mood of their music. They put out their first album, 'The Silent Stone,' in 2007, and followed it with records like 'The Lure of the Nightingale' in 2010 and 'The Red Chamber' in 2013.

Their song 'Autumn Leaves' is probably what most people know them for, but they have other tracks like 'Dark Haired Girl' and 'Even The Vultures Have Moved On' that carry a similar weight. In 2009, they had to deal with a legal issue over the band name, but they kept going. The lineup shifted a bit over time, with Ondřej Mucha, Daniel Vondra, and Tomáš Koudelka joining at different points, though Korandová has always been the constant voice.

They released 'The Lost Tapes' in 2019, rounding out a run of albums that stick to a dark, introspective sound without much fuss. It's straightforward stuff, built around Korandová's singing and those melancholic melodies.
