L'Impératrice

Back to artist page

L'Impératrice is a Parisian band that makes electro-pop with funk and disco touches. Their sound has a dreamy quality, heard on tracks like "La Lune" and "Voodoo?" from their catalog. The group includes Charles de Boisseguin on vocals, Florent Piole on bass, David Gaugué on guitar, Tom Daveau on drums, and Agathe Di Crescenzo on keyboards and vocals.

They released their first album, Matahari, in 2018, followed by Tako Tsubo in 2021. Their 2023 album Sonate Pacifique includes the title track, which has a cinematic feel. Other songs like "Vacances" and "Digital Sunset" show their range within a pop framework.

Some listeners have noted retro influences in their music, but the band continues to develop their style. Their work draws from various sources without leaning too heavily on any single era.
