Not long ago our love was like a young and tender vine

That grew and grew until our hearts were so entwined

But carelessly you soon forgot the vine was growing there

And its tender leaves began to die for want of care

Now the tender leaves of love are blowing in the wind

The dust of loneliness covers them

How sad it is to know we’ll never love again
