Linkup formed in the Parisian suburbs in the early 2000s, with brothers Bilal and Moussa Hassan joining childhood friend Sofiane Tadjine. Their breakthrough came in 2008 with the single "Ça Arrive," an infectious track that blended rap and R&B rhythms and became their signature hit.

Their debut album "Dans la Légende" arrived that same year, establishing their sound. They followed with songs like "Ça L'fait Comme Ça" and "Je Ne T'ai Pas Oubliée," maintaining a presence in French pop and R&B through the late 2000s and early 2010s.

In 2010, the group faced copyright infringement allegations, which they eventually resolved. They collaborated with artists like Soprano and Tal during this period, though their output slowed in later years.
