Lion Jump was a Brazilian band that formed in the late 1990s. Their debut album came out in 1998, followed by releases like 'Na Morada do Sol' in 1999 and 'Carnaval' in 2001. The group originally included Junior Lima on vocals and guitar, Durval Lelis on vocals and drums, and Maurício Mattar on vocals and bass, though Mattar left in 2002.
Their 2003 album 'Ciranda' gave them their biggest hit with the title track. That song, along with others like 'Dayane' and 'Deus É a Revolução,' helped define their sound during that period. The band kept recording through the mid-2000s, putting out a live album in 2005 and a compilation called '10 Anos' in 2007.
Their music connected with a lot of listeners in Brazil, though they also faced criticism at times over lyrical content and a plagiarism lawsuit related to 'Ciranda.' The group's activity tapered off after their 2007 release.
