Archive material and source history
Lionville formed in Los Angeles around 2005, with Jake Bateman on vocals and guitar, Ethan James on bass, and Mark Wilson on drums. Their first album, 'Ashes to Ashes,' came out in 2007, followed by 'The Bleeding Heart' in 2009. That second record included 'Angel Without Wings,' which became one of their better-known songs.
In 2010, Bateman was arrested for drug possession, which led to some canceled shows and a break in activity. The band eventually returned with 'Phoenix Rising' in 2012, then put out 'Shadow of the Past' in 2015 and 'Unbreakable' in 2018. Other tracks like 'Can't Live Without Your Love' and 'Nothing Without You' show up in their catalog, but 'Angel Without Wings' remains the one most people recognize.
