Liras formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2008 with Filipe Catto on vocals and guitar, Bruno Berle on vocals and bass, and Marcus Preto on drums. Their debut album came out in 2010, and the track 'Joãozinho' from it caught on nationally. Berle left the band in 2012, leaving Catto and Preto as a duo.
They've put out five albums, including 'Fim' in 2012 and 'Rumo ao Leste' in 2014. Other songs like 'Popica É Melhor do Que Pipoca' and 'Balança a Rolinha' are among their better-known work. The band still performs and records as a duo.
