Líris formed in Vitória in 2006, with Monique Guedes on vocals, Rodrigo Lemos on guitar, and Forlan Matos on bass. Their self-titled debut came out the following year, mixing alternative rock with Brazilian folk elements. The album got them some attention, and they followed it up with 'Amores Mudos' a few years later.
Their third album, '2 de Dezembro', arrived in 2012. The title track became their most recognizable song, though its lyrics about love and loss stirred up some debate at the time. Other songs like 'Caroline' and 'Vento' also found an audience. The band kept playing shows and putting out music for a while after that.
