Litfiba formed in Florence in 1980 with Piero Pelù, Federico Renzulli, and Renzo Franchi. They put out their first album, "Eneide," in 1983. Their sound mixed punk, rock, and new wave, which didn't fit neatly into what was popular at the time.
Some of their songs got them into trouble. Another track, "Ragazzo," drew attention in 1993 for its themes around adolescent sexuality.
Songs like "Fata Morgana," "Regina Di Cuori," and "A denti stretti" became fixtures for the band. They recorded over a dozen studio albums across more than forty years.
