Archive material and source history
Litieh formed in 2009 around vocalist and songwriter Débora Umbelino, with Ricardo Martins on bass, Gonçalo Ferreira on drums, and Ivo Ferreira on keyboards. They released their first album, 'Flor de Laranjeira,' in 2011. The band's name comes from the Greek word 'litho,' which means stone.
In 2013, bassist Ricardo Martins died. The band continued, dedicating their music to his memory. They followed it with 'A Porta Secreta' in 2017.
Their song 'Flor de Laranjeira' features Wilson Bebel and became a notable track. Another song, 'Pássaro Preto,' drew attention for its lyrics about police brutality. The current lineup includes Umbelino, Gonçalo Ferreira, Ivo Ferreira, and bassist Miguel Duarte.
