Lito H

Lito H formed in the Bronx in the late 1980s with Liz Estrella on vocals, Tony Rosario on keyboards, Angel Nieves on bass, and Joe Maldonado on drums. They worked in freestyle, a Latin music style that often mixed English lyrics with dance rhythms.

In 1991, their debut single "Freestyle #1" became a crossover hit, reaching the Latin charts and the Billboard Hot 100. The following year they released their first album, "Disco Fever." Another track, "Freestyle #2," also appeared among their recorded work.

Some listeners criticized the group for using English lyrics in a genre that was mostly Spanish-language at the time. There were also allegations of misconduct involving one member, which led to lineup changes. They kept recording and performing through the 1990s, putting out four studio albums in total.
