Litoral Norte

Litoral Norte formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1990s. The band was founded by Marcos Valle, who had been writing and playing music since he was young. They spent their first few years playing shows around the city, building a following with people who connected with their straightforward approach.

In 1995 they released the album "Eu Sou Quem Sempre Quis Ser," which included the title track that became widely known. The song's direct lyrics about self-acceptance struck a chord with listeners, though some critics found the band's subject matter too blunt. Litoral Norte kept writing in that same plainspoken style, with songs like "Sigo o Sol" following similar themes of personal direction.
