Little Birdy formed in Perth around 2002 with Katy Steele on vocals and guitar, Scott O'Donoghue on guitar, and Simon Leach on drums. They signed with Modular Recordings and put out their debut album 'Face to Face' in 2005, which included the single 'Tonight'.
Their songs like 'Alright' and 'Beautiful To Me' had a straightforward indie rock feel with some folk touches. They released a few more albums, including 'Actor Away' in 2007 and 'Official National Treasure' in 2010.
O'Donoghue was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009 but kept playing with the band. Steele's personal life drew some media notice during those years. Their last studio album was 'Motions' in 2014.
