A Los Angeles band that mixed rock, blues, and funk into a sound all its own.
For a quick sense of their groove, put on 'Willin'' or 'Romance Without Finance'. That's the Feat sound, plain and simple.
Little Feat's 1973 debut album gave us 'Willin'', a song that defined their weary, road-worn vibe. That blend of rock with blues and funk became their signature, a sound they carried through records like 'Dixie Chicken' and 'Feats Don't Fail Me Now'. It's a catalog that still feels lived-in, whether you're spinning 'Romance Without Finance' or catching them on tour today.
They formed in Los Angeles in 1969, with Lowell George as the main songwriter and frontman through the 1970s. After George left in 1979 and died in 1997, the band regrouped in the late 1990s with a different lineup that included Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett. They've kept touring and recording since, drawing on songs like 'Down the Road' and 'Fool Yourself'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
