Little Tony was born Antonio Ciacci and started performing in the late 1950s with a band called I Campioni. That group eventually became Little Tony and His Brothers. They had their first major success with "24,000 Baci" in 1961.
His biggest hit came in 1967 with "Cuore Matto," which he co-wrote with Alberto Testa. The song became enormously popular in Italy and beyond. Other songs like "La Spada Nel Cuore" and "La Fine Di Agosto" followed in the years after.
Tony sometimes found himself in disputes with the music industry and faced a plagiarism accusation over "Cuore Matto" in 1968. He defended himself successfully in court. He kept recording through the 1970s and 1980s with songs like "La Torre" and "Un Cuore Matto."
