Livea formed in Salvador, Bahia in 2008 with four members: Léo Bahia, Robson Fonseca, Paulinho Fonseca, and Leonardo Fróes. They started playing bars and clubs around the city, working through the usual early struggles of a new band.
Their first album came out in 2013, simply called "Livea." It had a mix of pop, rock, and reggae sounds, and included the song "Seu Orgulho Me Destrói," which caught on with listeners. They put out two more albums after that, "Além do Horizonte" in 2016 and "Sonhar Não Custa Nada" in 2019.
