Liverpool Kids

The Liverpool Kids were a British pop band from Liverpool who formed in the late 1960s. They had four members: Jimmy Campbell on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Billy Kinsley on lead guitar and vocals, Brian Jones on bass and vocals, and Dave Lewis on drums. Their first single was "I Need You" in 1968, which became their most recognizable song.

They released their debut album in 1970, simply called "Liverpool Kids," and followed it with another album the next year. The band faced some internal tensions and financial difficulties during their run, and their sound existed alongside bigger Liverpool acts of the era. They put out a compilation in 1972 that included their earlier work like "Yesterday."

Their music had a straightforward pop energy with catchy melodies, but they never broke through to the same level as some of their contemporaries. The lineup stayed consistent through their recordings, with Campbell's vocals anchoring songs that leaned into the guitar-driven sound of the time. After a few years of activity, they faded from the scene without much fanfare.
