Lobos do Alasca came out of Porto Alegre, Brazil in the early 2000s. They were led by vocalist and songwriter Marcelo Casanova, and their sound had some grunge and alternative rock in it. They played local bars and festivals for a while before things started to click.
Their debut album came out in 2004, and it had a song called "Não Quero Que Perca Seu Tempo Comigo" on it. That track got popular pretty quickly, with its direct take on heartbreak. The band put out a few more albums after that, like O Último Som in 2006 and Pura Emoção in 2008.
