Lokoise formed in São Paulo in 2003 with vocalist Badauí, guitarist Zé Otávio, bassist Sidão, and drummer Paulo. They started playing bars and clubs around the city, building a following with their live shows.
Their 2008 debut album 'Bug de Chunks' gave them their breakthrough. The title track became a hit across Brazil, and the album's mix of pop, rock, and reggae found a wide audience. Bassist Sidão left the band in 2010, replaced by Sandro.
They kept recording through the 2010s with albums like 'Foi Bom Pra Você' in 2011 and 'Na Onda da Maré' in 2014. Their song 'J'Suis Sean Kévin' also became part of their catalog. They've released six studio albums through 2022's 'Deserto'.
