Lokossomos formed in Fortaleza, Brazil in the early 1980s. Their debut album 'Amor Platônico' came out in 1984 and gave them their first national hit with the title track. The band included Jocas Ferreira on vocals and guitar, Celso Calazans on bass, and Serginho Rocha on drums.
Their sound mixed pop and rock with Brazilian rhythms, and they kept releasing albums through the late 80s and early 90s. Another song people remember is 'Não Sou Um Mané.' In the late 1980s, there were some plagiarism allegations around one of their songs, but that didn't stick around for long.
Later on, their song 'Amiga da Minha Amiga' stirred up some debate in Brazil over its subject matter. They've been playing for decades now, and songs like 'Amor Platônico' still get played.
