Lola formed in São Paulo in 2005 as a Brazilian pop-rock quartet with Marina Vello on vocals, Roberta Mathews on guitar, Ana Paula Botelho on bass, and Renata Spinardi on drums. Their breakthrough came with the single "Meu Garoto Favorito," which caught on with its catchy rhythm and Vello's strong vocal delivery.
They released their self-titled debut album in 2006, followed by "Noite de Domingo" in 2008. Other albums included "O Poder das Meninas" in 2010, an acoustic release in 2012, and "Pra Você" in 2015. Songs like "21" and "Another Empty Love" appeared in their catalog alongside the earlier hit.
The band went on hiatus in 2017 but reunited in 2019.
