Lontalius

Lontalius is the project of New Zealand musician Eddie Johnston, who started making bedroom pop as a teenager in Wellington. His early work had a lo-fi, intimate quality, with songs like "Sleep Thru Ur Alarms" and "All I Wanna Say" circulating online and building a quiet following. The music often dealt with feelings of isolation and young adulthood, delivered in a hushed vocal style over simple electronic production.

Johnston's debut album came out in 2016, followed by a series of EPs and singles that gradually refined his sound. Tracks such as "I Was More Than" and "Dreams In My Head" maintained that personal, introspective quality while incorporating clearer production touches. He's mentioned being influenced by both indie pop and electronic artists, though his work stays rooted in a direct, songwriter-first approach rather than pure soundscape exploration.

In recent years, Lontalius has continued releasing music that feels close and unpolished, with songs like "It's Not Love" and "Glow" carrying forward that early emotional transparency. The project remains largely a solo endeavor, with Johnston handling writing and production himself.
