Look Cem

Look Cem was a progressive rock band from the Netherlands that formed in the early 1970s. The group included vocalist and keyboardist Jules Clement, guitarist Arnold Mühren, bassist Karel van der Meijden, and drummer Tony Vos. They released four albums between 1972 and 1980, starting with their self-titled debut in 1972.

Their 1976 album 'Alpha Omega' became their most recognized work, a concept album that explored themes of cosmic consciousness and reincarnation. The title track 'Alpha Omega' showcases their approach with complex instrumental passages and ethereal vocals. The album received mixed reactions at the time, with some critics finding it inaccessible while others considered it an important progressive rock statement.

Look Cem continued recording through the late 1970s with albums like 'Cosmic Messenger' in 1978 and 'The Fourth Hour' in 1980. Their music maintained an experimental quality that didn't always align with mainstream rock trends of the era. The band's work has since found appreciation among collectors and progressive rock enthusiasts who value their particular approach to the genre.
