Look I'm A Ghost formed in 2007 around Matt E. Coleman, who had previously been in Young Legionnaire. He started the band with bassist Matt Thomas and drummer Wayne Francis. They worked out of London, playing a kind of indie rock that leaned into post-punk and shoegaze textures.
Their first album came out in 2010, titled 'All Along The Waterfront' after one of their songs. That track, along with others like 'Give It Up' and 'Sharks,' gave a good sense of their sound: moody, guitar-driven, and a bit rough around the edges. They put out a couple more records over the next few years, including 'Bloodlines' in 2012 and 'Temporary Love' in 2015.
The lineup shifted some after the early days, with different musicians coming through. They kept playing shows and putting out music, building a following without much fuss or dramatic narrative.
