Los Anaya came out of Monterrey, Mexico, playing a mix of Norteño and banda music. Their 1997 debut album 'Tengo Miedo' gave them their first hit with the title track, a ballad about the fear in love that connected with listeners on both sides of the border.
They released several albums through the early 2000s, including 'Al Estilo de Los Anaya' in 1999 and 'El Poder de Los Anaya' in 2004. The band was built around the Anaya brothers, with Juan handling lead vocals and songwriting while Javier played accordion.
In 2008 they had a legal dispute with their record label that could have stopped their momentum, but they kept going. They marked their 20th anniversary with a compilation in 2017.
