Background notes

Archive material and source history

Los Lobotomys formed in a Buenos Aires suburb in the mid-1980s, with vocalist and guitarist Pablo Guerra and bassist Carlos Fernandez at the core. They were later joined by drummer Ricardo Esposito. Their music came together during a period of political and social tension in Argentina.

Their debut album 'Extinción' featured the track 'Extinction Blues,' which became their most recognized song.

They developed a raw, confrontational sound built around Guerra's vocals, Fernandez's bass lines, and Esposito's drumming. Another song of theirs is 'Hero With A 1,000 Eyes.'
