Los Locos formed in 1986 with Jorge Serrano on vocals, Oscar Duca on guitar and vocals, Mario Saralegui on bass, and Marcelo "Tommy" Makaroff on drums. Their early sound mixed catchy melodies with energetic rhythms, and they put out their first album that same year.
In 1989, they released "El Tiburón," a playful song about a man obsessed with a woman nicknamed Shark. It became a massive hit, topping charts and selling millions of copies. That success defined much of what followed for the band.
After "El Tiburón," Los Locos kept recording through lineup changes and shifting sounds. Duca left in 1996, Makaroff in 2000, leaving Serrano as the only original member. They continued putting out songs like "Algo Mejor" and "Buscando Lios," but never matched that early commercial peak.
