Los Tiburones formed in Barranquilla, Colombia, in the late 1990s, with Aldemar Correa as their vocalist and bandleader. They started out playing small local events, and it took a few years before they landed a recording contract. Their big break came in 2006 with the release of "Llega Más," a song that mixed salsa and cumbia rhythms into something that caught on quickly across Colombia.
That hit led to a string of albums, including "Baila Conmigo" in 2007, "El Coco" in 2010, and "La Salsa Está Buena" in 2015. They also worked with other artists like Oscar D'León and Gilberto Santa Rosa. Their sound kept that tropical feel, with tracks like "Muchacha Loca" and "Festa no Quintal" showing up in their setlists.
In 2010, there was some noise about "El Coco" possibly borrowing from another song, but the band denied it and the issue faded. They kept playing and recording, with Correa still fronting the group.
