Background notes

Archive material and source history

Los Tinos formed in 1994 in Monterrey, Mexico, with Beto Zapata on vocals, Jorge "Koki" Garza on drums, Eduardo "Lalo" Barrera on bass, and Ricardo "Ricky" García on guitar. Their debut album "Así Es la Vida" came out in 1995, followed by "Cada Día Más" in 1997, which gave them their biggest hit with the title track.

They put out several more albums through the early 2000s, including "Atrévete a Soñar" in 1999 and a live record in 2000. Their songs like "Cada Día Más" and "Un Beso Al Viento" were straightforward romantic ballads that connected with listeners without much studio fuss.

Like a lot of bands from that era, they had their share of internal disagreements and money troubles. They also worked with other artists occasionally, including Juan Gabriel and Los Tigres del Norte, but mostly kept to their own lane.
