Los Tres

Los Tres formed in Concepción, Chile in 1987 with Álvaro Henríquez on vocals and guitar, Ángel Parra on flute and saxophone, Francisco Molina on bass, and Roberto Lindl on drums. Their self-titled 1991 debut arrived after Henríquez faced a drug possession arrest that year, an incident that colored their early years.

Their song 'Amor Violento' became a cultural flashpoint in Chile, with its direct lyrics about domestic violence sparking public debate. Henríquez defended the song as reflecting real experiences. The band followed with albums like 'Se Rematan Lágrimas' in 1993 and 'Fome' in 1997, weaving Chilean folk elements with rock structures.

Other tracks like 'La Respuesta' and 'Tirate' showed their range within that blend. They kept recording into the 2000s with 'La Espada & la Pared' before eventually slowing down. Their music, particularly 'Amor Violento,' remains a reference point in Chilean rock for its unflinching subject matter and melodic craft.
