Los Twist formed in Buenos Aires in 1982, with guitarist Pipo Cipolatti and vocalist Tito Losavio at the center. Their first album, 'La Dicha en Movimiento,' came out the following year. Songs like 'Jugando Hula-Hula' and 'Mirando Vidrieras, Comparando Precios' gave them an early foothold with a mix of punk energy and rockabilly rhythms.
They put out records like 'El Expreso de la Medianoche' in 1985 and 'Cachetazo al Chocolate' in 1987, which brought in more electronic and dance elements. '25 Estrellas De Oro,' from the 1986 album 'El Régimen del Romance,' became one of their best-known tracks.
Other members included bassist Pablo Guyot and saxophonist Daniel Melingo. Los Twist released seven studio albums through the 1980s and into the 1990s, with a live record appearing in 1997. Their sound, heard on songs like 'Cleopatra, La Reina Del Twist' and 'S.O.S. Sos Una Rica Banana,' pulled from new wave and Latin styles without settling into one genre.
