Archive material and source history
Yuyeros formed in Buenos Aires in the late 1960s with Claudio Gabis on guitar, Gustavo Santaolalla on vocals and guitar, Daniel Raffo on bass, and Héctor 'Pelusa' Muñoz on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1970, and it included the song 'Quiero Estar Con Vos,' which became a classic in Argentina.
They disbanded in 1976 under political pressure. After democracy returned, Yuyeros reunited in 1985 and released albums like 'Ha Llegado el Momento' in 1987 and 'Cuerpo y Alma' in 1990.
Gustavo Santaolalla left the band in 1975 to work on his own projects. Héctor Muñoz died in 2001. Claudio Gabis and Daniel Raffo have stayed with the group through different lineups. Their discography includes records from the 1970s through 2019's 'La Canción de las Bestias.'
