Lost Boyz came together in Brooklyn in the early 1990s with Mr. Cheeks, Freaky Tah, Spigg Nice, and DJ Squeeky. Their 1996 debut album 'Legal Drug Money' put them on the map with tracks like 'Lifestyles of the Poor & Famous' and 'Renee,' mixing soulful melodies with street-level storytelling. Songs like 'So Love' and '1,2,3' from their catalog show that blend of smooth vocals and raw edge.
Freaky Tah was shot and killed in Queens in 1999, which changed the group's course. They released two more albums after that, 'Love, Peace & Nappiness' in 1997 and 'LB IV Life' in 2000, before fading from the scene. Mr. Cheeks went on to work as a solo artist.
